On Loving Others Part 1: Freedom to Love

There is freedom found in the gospel for the one who places their trust in it. That freedom is not in ourselves; we who are by nature slaves to sin, but it is in the freedom of His grace, which sets us free in Christ.

The freedom of the gospel of God's love for me is also one where I find and feel like I could risk a great deal in order to love people. It is a freedom to risk all claims on right or wrong in order to love all people. John McKenzie wrote, "Reason demands moderation in love as in all things, but faith destroys moderation here. Faith tolerates a moderate love of one's fellow man no more than it tolerates a moderate love between God and man."

There are no people whom I should not love. If questioned as to why I would love and show love and give love to one person or another based on any factor, I see no other answer than:

"I am loving every single person. If I was not supposed to love this or that person, I trust God will be gracious to me."
